Musical Director/Theater Pianist

        Darius has served as Musical Director and Conductor for many national and regional productions (just see his resume!). Some theaters Darius has worked for include Dallas Theater Center, Paper Mill Playhouse, Portland Center Stage, and his home theater Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown, New Jersey. He is also the musical supervisor for all of the national tours produced by Irving Street Rep; frequently appearing at Jazz Alley in Seattle and in the Miami-Dade area. Darius continues to work as a Musical Director and pianist in the cabaret world, where he assists in the construction of shows from the ground up for emerging artists as well as for Broadway performers. Pianist for Events and Open Mic Host

        Darius is a mainstay at the Duplex, one of the most popular piano bars in the world! It is located in the heart of  Greenwich Village in NYC (61 Christopher St., corner of Seventh Ave). He hosts and plays piano for "Singer Spotlight" on Mondays with award winning vocalists, Maria Gentile and William Blake, and on Thursdays with Tina Himaya and Maria Gentile. "Singer Spotlight" is welcoming to everyone from professional singers to people who just want to get up and try something for fun. Darius accompanies a wide range of styles from contemporary or legit musical theater to classic rock, soul and the most recent pop songs. Darius is the winner of the Bistro Award for his work in cabaret. 

       

        Darius frequently books himself and other entertainers for corporate and civic events, holiday or cocktail parties, informal birthday party sing-alongs or just where live music is needed! Besides this, he has a history of accompanying teen chorales, young performers, and seasoned veterans. In the past, he has provided the musical accompaniment for comedy legends Joan Rivers and Mario Cantone in their sets. He has also accompanied Norm Lewis and Adam Pascal in concert, and accompanied teen chorales who sang with Patti LuPone, Kristin Chenoweth, and Sutton Foster. Vocal Coaching and Music Education

        Darius has vast experiene working with children and teens. He is the resident Musical Supervisor of The Performing Arts School (PAS) at MPAC in Morristown, NJ. PAS is a fully accredited school serving over 500 students per year with 24 classes annually (including an adult curriculum). He has also coached for Harriet Bass Casting, McDonald's Gospelfest, and local studios, such as Kimberly Vaughn Performance Studio. When Darius teaches, whether young or older, he can make anyone confident in their singing and help them see rapid improvement in their performance style. Whether it's audition prep, a one person cabaret show or just learning the basics about singing in front of an audience, Darius can suggest suitable material, make you feel confident, and guide you to the finish line.
